The Saltbox has hosted hundreds of happy B & B guests since 1997. This lovingly refurbished landmark offers charming, private suites which can also accommodate extended, independent stays. Our bed and breakfast is ideal for temporary business assignments, sabbaticals or relocations within the Five College Area in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts.

Perfectly located in the historic Elm Street neighborhood and across the street from Smith College, The Saltbox provides strolling access to our vibrant downtown with its renowned restaurants, shops and galleries. Within easy driving distance are: Amherst, Hampshire and Mount Holyoke Colleges, UMass, Deerfield Academy and The Williston Northampton School (not to mention The Berkshires and other scenic and cultural destinations).

Each tastefully appointed and fully furnished suite offers a private entrance, bedroom, bath and sitting areas.
