| The Saltbox opened to the public in April of 1997 and has played host to hundreds of satisfied guests! In order to service a growing need in our area, this lovingly refurbished landmark now offers three private suites designed to accommodate extended independent stays only, for temporary business assignments, sabbaticals or relocations within the Five College Area in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts.
Each tastefully appointed and fully furnished suite offers a private entrance, sitting and bedroom, private bath, central heat and A/C, cable tv, wireless internet, and off-street parking space. The two larger suites, ideal for academic or calendar years, offer full kitchens too! See descriptions. Perfectly located in the historic Elm Street/Smith College neighborhood, The Saltbox provides strolling access to our vibrant downtown with its renowned restaurants, shops and galleries. The Berkshires and many other scenic and cultural destinations are within easy driving distance.
